How Important Is The End-Credit Scene Of ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp?’

Just when you think ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ couldn’t be any more heartbreaking, Ant-Man and The Wasp’s end-credit scene proves otherwise.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Ant-Man and The Wasp is the first movie following Avengers: Infinity War and we’re all dying for some glint of hope for our fallen heroes. But the rumors were true: the movie took place before the events of Thanos’ invasion. Nothing about Avengers 4 was answered… yet.

The second Ant-Man movie revolves around saving Janet Van Dyne – the mother of Hope Van Dyne- who was stuck inside the quantum realm, all while making sure the FBI doesn’t catch Scott Lang breaking his house arrest (remember when he helped Captain America in Civil War and got caught?)

Because of Ant-Man and The Wasp’s ability to travel easier into the Quantum Void, the possibilities become endless. Which only leaves us with more questions than answers.

As expected in any Marvel movie, there were two after-credit scenes.

The mid-credit scene was the most important one because it answered:

Where was Ant-Man during the battle of Wakanda?’

Ant-Man and The Wasp were a no-show at the battle of Wakanda because they were working on bringing Scott into the Quantum Realm to get quantum energy. Janet Van Dyne mentions something about not getting sucked into the Time Vortex as he leaves. (Could this possibly confirm the time travel theory from the Avengers 4 leaked set photos?)

But as he absorbs the quantum energy, the communication system goes static. There were no signs from the other end of the line and Scott is left in the Quantum Realm by himself.

Indeed, the snap happens while Scott is in his micro form while the rest of his team disintegrate into ashes.

Now what?

We’re all left wondering how on Earth will Scott Lang get out of the Quantum Realm. He can’t possibly leave without help, right? But who will save him?

The last credit scene doesn’t answer anything either. But at least we didn’t leave the cinema crying like we did in Avengers: Infinity War. Because the last scene was the giant ant drumming with Scott Lang’s drum set in his house; a refreshing way to end the action-packed movie.

While we now know why Scott couldn’t help during the Infinity war, at least we confirmed that he was spared from Thanos’ snap! This definitely gives us hope that he will have a bigger role in the next Avengers film.
