The 10th annual ball of MEGA Magazine is upon us and before we get to revel in tomorrow’s festivities, let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable moments in the past Independence Day balls of the Philippine’s best fashion magazine.
1. Claudine Barretto’s unexpected reunion with Dominique Cojuangco
While we now see Claudine Barretto and her sister Gretchen Barretto regularly bonding through their social media posts, it wasn’t long ago that the two famous sisters would not even speak to each other because of a very public family feud.
During last year’s MEGA Millennial Ball, Claudine Barretto and Gretchen’s daughter, Dominique Cojuangco, were both invited as guests. The two had the chance to reunite and even have their photos taken together after not interacting for quite sometime.
2. The star-studded show of Furne One for his 25th anniversary show
To commemorate his 25th year anniversary in the business of fashion, global Pinoy designer Furne One held a fashion show featuring his latest collection with the biggest stars of the Philippine millennial generation as his muses.
Kisses Delavin, Elisse Joson, Maymay Entrata, Janella Salvador, and Gabbi Garcia all donned the beautiful creations of Furne during last year’s MEGA Millennial Ball.
3. Pia Wurtzbach, Megan Young, and Kylie Verzosa unite for the first MEGA Millennial Ball
In 2o17, MEGA Magazine did the unthinkable and united the beauty queens who have brought glory to the Philippines in just a span of three years. Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, and Miss World 2014 Megan Young all came together to be the face of MEGA’s campaign in uniting the country.
4. Nadine Lustre’s first MEGA Ball
Before the success of the JaDine love team, Nadine Lustre was already under the radar of MEGA Magazine. Still a starlet at the time, Nadine attended her first MEGA Pinoy Pride Ball back in 2015. According to MEGA’s Editor-In-Chief, Peewee Reyes-Isidro, Nadine even drove herself to the ball!
5. JuanBie’s first and last MEGA Ball together
The success of JM de Guzman’s love team with Barbie Imperial “JuanBie” might have been fleeting yet it stuck with the hearts of many Filipino audiences. Last year’s MEGA Millennial Ball was one of the first major events that the couple attended together. Little did we know that it would also be their last time to attend the ball as a couple.
For this year, MEGA is dubbing their Independence Day ball as the MEGA Equality Ball and we’re expecting quite a lot of celebrities to turn out!
Who do you think will have a memorable moment tomorrow night?
