ABS-CBN Head Admits Not All PBB Housemates Came From Auditions

It's no secret that Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) is one of the most controversial reality shows in the country. In its 13 years on television, the reality show has faced a lot of controversies including the rumors that the housemates don’t really go through auditions, and are actually pre-selected. Related: Do you think Pinoy Big Brother All In is scripted?  Now that a new season of PBB is coming, ABS-CBN TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi answered all controversies surrounding the show. He admitted that there really are different ways to be able to enter the most-sought after reality show. “I will admit that iba-iba ang paraan para makapasok sa showbiz. Mayroong through the reality programs where you audition, mayroong through some managers, kasi marami naman talagang reputable managers and some recommendations.” According to Dyogi, Joshua Garcia and Barbie Imperial were discovered through audition caravans.

Director Lauren Dyogi further explained: “Wala naman po kaming pinangako na lahat ng contestants, manggagaling lang sa auditions. The auditions is one way of joining the contest, but everybody who’s recommended, by katrabaho namin or iba pang managers, lahat yan, pinag-audition namin.” ABS-CBN’s upcoming audition caravan, Star Hunt, aims to give everyone an equal chance for every reality show that the network has. Star Hunt is a one-stop audition for the public wherein hopeful auditionees can try out for multiple reality shows and talent search. “Sa isang punta mo, marami ka nang pwedeng pag-auditionan. So I think makakatipid ang mga tao natin, ang ating mga kapamilya, yung oras, and yung timing din kasi at least you don’t audition only for one. You audition for all the properties and programs of ABS-CBN, yung present and yung pinaplano pa namin.” Star Hunt will be happening on April 20-21. Read more:
