Bretman Rock Just Reclaimed The Word ‘Bading’ For His Collab With ColourPop Or Whatevah

YouTube superstar Bretman Rock has a new collaboration with ColourPop and it’s a nod to his Filipino heritage.

Bretman Rock once again proves that he remains in touch with his Filipino roots in his latest makeup collaboration. With blues, reds, yellows, and browns, his collection with the international makeup brand is sure to slay! On social media, Bretman expresses his excitement for the new collection.

“I poured my heart and soul into this project and I hope you guys love it as much I do. I can’t wait to tell you guys more about it! [The] collection is totally inspired by my heritage,” he writes.

The Bretman Rock x ColourPop collab is a 12-piece set which includes variations of blush, lipstick, eyeshadow palettes, lipgloss, and a new product making its debut: body glitter.

The products resonate well with what Bretman Rock shows online: his creative words plus his very vibrant personality. As we all know, Bretman is proud of many things. Aside from his Filipino roots, he is also proud of his sexuality.

In fact, he called the stand-out metallic pink shade in his Lit eyeshadow palette, ‘Bading.’

It’s a term us Filipinos are too familiar with. For the longest time, Filipinos have used the term to insult men who act ‘too feminine.’ Some call and generalize the members of the LGBT community ‘bading.’

“I wanted to pay homage to this word and own it. What better way to do that than by including it as the name of a product?” Bretman said in an interview with Refinery29.

Other shades in the eyeshadow palettes also include the names, Cleo Amore (his niece), Or Whateva (his catchphrase), and Ewa Beach (his neighborhood in Hawaii).

Sticking with ColourPop’s reputation of having quality makeup at an affordable price, the pieces of the super glitzy collection will all be under $12 or Php640 and will be available starting November 9!
