First-Ever Cinco De Mayhem Music Festival Brings Communities Together

No heat can beat the fun and excitement festivalgoers experienced on Cinco de Mayhem 2019’s premiere at Vista Mall Daang Hari last May 4.

The summer’s hottest music festival, Cinco de Mayhem, brought together a community of artists, musicians, performers, fans, and music lovers in a whole day of fun-filled localized celebration of the Mexican holiday.

People from all ages attended the event, dressed in their festive Cinco de Mayo outfits. Who wouldn’t be excited to have fun when you see huge sombreros, creative ponchos, and interactive booths? Mayhemigos enjoyed various Mexican and Filipino-themed food and beverage stalls to keep themselves stuffed and hydrated.

But the highlight of the event is the fantastic lineup of local talents prepared by Pro Media Productions.

The wide array of music and dancing is headlined by Nadine Lustre and James Reid together with the Careless Music Manila crew. Showcasing OPM artists, performers, and musicians, Cinco de Mayhem honors the unique talents of Filipinos through the spectacular Cinco de Mayo-themed music fest.

Quest sang a soulful rendition of his songs like “Dati,” “Walang Hanggan,” and “Unang Hakbang” with Keiko Necessario.

Kiana Valenciano dazzles everyone with her dashing elegant yet hip looks as she debuts her new songs at Cinco de Mayhem.

Cinco de Mayhem’s own Creative Director, actor-turned-singer, Alex Diaz surprises everyone with performance with Natasha Jordan, singing his new song, “Broken.”

Of course, everyone danced to the electro beats of some of the greatest DJs in the industry. Divine Smith, DJ Euric, Deuce, Nix Damn P. got everybody dancing the whole night! DJs Mark Siangyoo, Dom Go, Out of Scratch and Red Bull Music 3style Champs (with National  Champion Mark Thompson) kept the high energy of the crowd.

What made the night so lit is the hype created by great MC the dancing Chris Ty-Z and the only female MC, Marga Bermudez that spiced up the party.

No one was ready to go home when Careless Music Manila started their set. The badass, sick lines by the crew of KingwAw, Astrokidd, Massiah, and Curstismith got everyone vibing.

Every fangirl screamed and squealed their hardest when James Reid came out. His joint performances with his friends and his interaction with the fans proved that he is such a sweetheart full of talent ready to charm anyone with his piercing gaze and beautiful voice.

But all the build-up finally came to fruition when the other half of JaDine couple, Nadine Lustre, went to the stage. With a powerful stage presence and synchronized dance numbers, she proved that she is a top caliber performer, too.

It seemed like FAMAS-awardee Nadine is also ready to take the stage by storm. You can’t expect less from someone dubbed by netizens and her fans as “the next President.”

Bringing together a community at Cinco de Mayhem

I have been to a good number of concerts and festivals by both local and international performers, but what truly is admirable about Cinco de Mayhem for me was the spirit of getting together and the spirit of having a community.

Seeing groups of friends, fan clubs, and families who attended the event, singing and grooving makes the event a moment to remember.

What I really liked best is the amount of support every performer had for each other. Celebrities coming together and enjoying the moment with their friends was something to behold.

At the end of the day, Cinco de Mayhem is all about bringing people together and it has successfully stayed true to the essence of the celebration. This is the first-ever Cinco de Mayhem Music Festival, and I can’t wait to see the next ones.
