Demi Lovato has always been vocal about wanting to spread body positivity. The star has been open about struggling with her body image in the past, from battling an eating disorder to experiencing a short stint in rehab. This is someone who knows what it feels like to be in the dark, and she wants to help other girls avoid that path.
For her second line with Demi Lovato For Fabletics–Lovato’s activewear collaboration with actress Kate Hudson–she has shared that she is most proud of its take on body positivity. She shares that women of any age can wear the pieces, which include criss-cross banded leggings and mesh hoodies. The sizes range from XS to 3X.
Lovato is happier nowadays, sharing that society has “come a long way,” with people demanding for diversity to be featured more. “We all have different body types, different shapes and sizes, and it’s important not to exclude anybody,” she shares with Style Caster.
“It’s important to teach girls body positivity at a young age. remember being very little and having body image issues. I remember thinking that I was supposed to look a certain way,” Lovato says, sharing that she wanted a thinner body type back then. “When you see all different shapes and sizes, you’re able to look at yourself and know that you’re unique and beautiful the way you are,” she adds.
With these flattering pieces now available in the market, girls and women of all ages will definitely be inspired to be healthy–physically, mentally and emotionally.
