“It gets me in touch with my real self, not the Miss Universe persona, so, it’s nice because I feel like I’m starting out again,” said Pia Wurtzbach in an exclusive interview of Inside Showbiz Weekly. Related: Pia Wurtzbach for Inside Showbiz Weekly The gorgeous beauty queen returned to the big screen on Christmas Day with Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad, her first time portraying a lead role. She plays Kweenie, a superhero who hypnotizes with a smize–a role that’s definitely perfect for the former Miss Universe. Armed with a smile and fierce persona, she joins forces with Vice Ganda’s Gandarra and Daniel Padilla’s Rapiddo to fight off the bad guys and save the universe.
Pia revealed that it was a great experience to be back in showbiz scene, especially that she started it with big showbiz names Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla. “They were all great and I had a lot of fun shooting the movie,” says the 28-year-old beauty queen turned actress. Through it all, she managed to find support from boyfriend Marlon Stöckinger. He visited the set a few times to pick her up, and sometimes, even stayed to watch the filming. “Para makita niya yung hirap na pinagdadaanan ko ‘no! ‘Kala niya madali lang, siya kaya sumabit nang naka-bikini lang siya,” she jokes.
