KZ shared that one of her success secrets is that she never stops challenging herself: “Aside from that, ‘yung palagi kang nag di-dream ng malaki. ‘Yung every time na may pangarap ka na naabot mo na, dream bigger. Never settle, never just stay in your comfort zone. Kasi you’ll never grow in your comfort zone. So ‘pag may dumating na opportunity, lalo na if it scares you, go for it! Kasi you will never lose. It’s either you win or you learn.” When asked about what advice she would give to all aspiring musicians who wants to make it big, but still struggling, KZ made a powerful statement: “Ikaw ‘yung unang maniniwala sa sarili mo. Mahihirapan ka if you treat this industry as if nasa isang competition ka. You’ll lose your focus sa sarili mong craft. Tapos tinitingnan mo ‘yung ibang mga tao.” “Dapat focused ka lang sa craft mo. Be authentic and just be yourself. Pakita mo kung sino ka talaga. Like ako, lahat kami, hindi namin ma a-achieve ‘to if nakinig kami dati nung sinabihan kami, when we were told to conform. Hindi namin talaga maipapakita kung sino kami. But then, nung nag breakthrough kami nung nag decide kami na we want to show who we really are as artists as people, doon nag sunod-sunod ‘yung mga blessings sa dumating.” “Dapat focus on yourself and kung ano man ‘yung mga challenges na dumadating, kung halimbawang may mga rejections ka mang pagdadaanan, isipin mo lang ang lahat nang ‘yun as redirections to a better opportunity. A stepping stone,” she ended.
KZ’s unparalleled passion for music has brought her to where she is now. The 25-year-old talented artist bagged several awards at the recently held Wish Music Awards 2018 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
