15-year-old model Kaia Gerber is on the rise, as she most recently became the new face of Marc Jacobs. Following the footsteps of her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, was not surprising, as the young beauty strongly resembles her mother.
Knowing how tough being in the public eye can be, Crawford decided to share with her daughter a few lessons about being in the industry. In a recent interview with Vogue UK, Gerber shares the advice her mother gave her, “My mom always says that less is more, because I think especially in today’s world, there’s a lot of people telling you different things but staying true to yourself and not trying to alter yourself to what people want you to be is really important”.
In addition to this, the up-and-coming model says that she tries to follow her mother’s advice on social media, which is to be as authentic as possible. “I don’t really take too much time on [social media] because then it doesn’t feel genuine,” Gerber says, adding, “I try to keep my social media really close to my personality. I don’t think it’s about trying to be better than anyone else, I think it’s just not being afraid to speak your mind, and showing that everyone is equal.”
Gerber shares that becoming a model was entirely her choice, and it was’t something that her mother pushed her and her brother Presley (who is also dabbling in modeling) to do. “I think it was always something that I knew I wanted to do. But I would never have thought that I’d be doing Daisy Marc Jacobs ten years later,” she gushes.
