“I think everyone wants to live a long life. I would like to live a long life. But what’s more important to me is how I live my life,” says Filipino-American vlogger Wil Dasovich in the beginning of his latest video.
In what was described as his “most important vlog” among his 300+ other videos, Dasovich made a surprising announcement: he had been recently diagnosed with cancer.
The travel vlogger and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate started off his video with his favorite adventures around Southeast Asia, and then included clips with his loved ones. In the middle of the 11-minute video, Dasovich also explained what made him decide to stay in the Philippines: the energy and the resilience of Filipinos to remain positive no matter what the situation is. He shares that this is what he aims to spread in his vlog as well, and anyone who has seen one of his videos can surely agree that his positive energy is infectious.
“It’s not the years in your life, but it’s the life in your years that count. The biggest thing that we have to realize is that life has no limitations except the ones we create,” he says. This video alone makes us question what and who we value in our life, and whether we are taking them for granted.
Dasovich, who turns 26 tomorrow, is currently in the United States, where he underwent a series of medical checkups after experiencing internal bleeding. He also shares that he will continue to vlog about his experiences as long as he is able to.
