Having a pimple crisis before an important event? Or maybe an acne breakout right before your period starts? We totally get it. It happens to us too!
While there’s no clear cause of acne, the most common reasons are stress, hormones, or skin irritations.
When you’re a teenager, your body is going through hormonal changes. Your skin’s oil glands get clogged in your pores which turns into acne, whiteheads, etc. So having pimples isn’t something to be embarrassed about.
Still, it doesn’t erase the fact that you feel conscious about how you look. The only solution? Skin care.
Skin Care 101
The best way to treat your skin is through proper skin care routine. If you take care of your skin early, the less frequent you’ll get breakouts. Here is MEG’s step-by-step guide to zapping those zits!
Step 1. Wash your face
The first and easiest step to taking care of your skin is to gently wash your face with warm water. The warm water will open up your pores. Use a mild cleanser, like Biore’s Uru Uru 2-in-1 make up remover and facial foam to clean your face.
Let’s jump start our year with a new habit! Double cleanse your face with Biore Uru Uru 2-in-1 Make up Remover and Facial Foam. It removes makeup and cleanses dirt. We're giving away 5 Biore Uru Uru Facial Foam to ladies who will guess the correct number of bubble foam in the video below. Winners will be picked and will be announced on February 2!
Step 2. Use a toner
After washing your face, apply toner on a swab of cotton and dab it on your t-zone. The toner will get rid of deep-seated dirt in your pores. We recommend Eskinol’s Pimple Fighting Deep Cleanser!
3. Apply Tea Tree Oil
Spot treat your problem area with tea tree oil. The chemicals in this oil will treat your acne by killing the bacteria and promote faster healing. Our number one pick for this job is The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil!

I’ve been religious with this product for almost 2 years now, and it never failed me. 😉 PS: I use the skin clearing facial wash, squeaky clean scrub, mattifying toner & oil.
Lastly, and probably the most important step on your skin care routine is getting moisturized. The key to healthy looking skin is getting that glow. By using moisturizers, it will help prevent skin problems, reduce the appearance of blemishes, and keep you looking young and radiant! Our best moisturizer is Clean and Clear’s Acne Control Moisturizer. It’s oil-free, so it won’t clog your pores!
5. Pimple Patch
If you have somewhere to go and you really want to conceal your pimple, avoid piling up with concealer and foundation because that will only make your pimple worse. Just use a pimple patch to cover it up. While there are a lot of pimple patches, CosRX’s Clear Fit Master patch works like a pro!
One, because it sticks all day. Two, because you can apply make up over it. Three, because it sucks out the puss and will heal overnight. Tested and proven. Cool, right?
All these products are reasonably affordable and easily accessible on your local drugstore or online. Making this a daily habit is easy, because it only takes five steps to make your skin looking visibly clearer.
